The Guardia Civil have been referred to as in to rescue a potholer who had suffered an accident and could not get again out of the cave.

GRA Sima Santa Raja AtarfeThe 45-year-old man had been exploring a cave generally known as Raja Santa inside the municipality of Atarfe yesterday along with different potholers.

The Granada-based, Grupo de Rescate e Intervención en Montaña (mountain rescue service) was despatched by the emergency coordination centre (112) after receiving a name for help from the potholer’s companions.

The caller defined that his colleague had a dislocated shoulder they usually have been unable to get him out owing to the vertical ascent to the cave mouth.

The three-man rescue group entered the cave, strapped the sufferer’s arm up and proceeded to extract him from the cave, which was no straightforward job as the doorway was very slim.

Because it was unattainable to get a regular ambulance to the world the place the cave is, they drove him in their very own car to the Hospital de Traumatología in Granada.
