Three Louisiana sports activities retailer staff declare they have been fired for chasing a suspected gun thief out of the shop in a suspected shoplifting earlier this month.
A gross sales affiliate on the Academy Sports activities and Outdoor retailer in Metairie, LA believed they have been finishing a sale with a pistol on the night of Dec. 16, when the shopper all of the sudden ran off after being handed the firearm.
“I simply took off,” Michelle Sutton, one of many crew leads, informed WGNO after listening to the decision out on her radio. “I knew I wanted some type of means to assist the police.”
Sutton says two retailer associates joined her in failed pursuit of the shoplifter.
Sutton claimed the sporting items retailer’s firearm compliance personnel terminated all three staff for breaking the shop’s coverage 4 days after the incident.
