Q: On January 10 in Geneva, Morocco was elected president of the UN Human Rights Council for 2024.
What’s France’s response to this election, and the way can it contribute to selling human rights within the area and all through the world?
A: France congratulates Mr. Omar Zniber, Morocco’s Everlasting Consultant to Geneva, on his election as president of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC). Mr. Zniber’s election displays the Council members’ belief in his private potential to steer its efforts.
As a Council member for the 2024-2026 time period, France will proceed to work intently with all the opposite members, together with Morocco, to champion the universality of human rights and promote fairer, freer, extra inclusive societies. France hopes specifically to work with Morocco on efforts to make the Conference on Enforced Disappearance common.
