Financial Neighborhood of West African States (ECOWAS) Fee President Engages in Diplomatic Dialogue with German Overseas Workplace Delegation

The President of the ECOWAS Fee, His Excellency Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, welcomed a high-level delegation from the German Federal Overseas Workplace led by Mr. Holgar Leukert, Head of Unit, Political Affairs, Ministry of Defence. The assembly, held on January 16, 2024, on the ECOWAS headquarters in Abuja, geared toward fortifying diplomatic relations, fostering collaboration in political affairs, and addressing regional challenges.

The German delegation, headed by Mr Holgar Leukert, included H.E. Annett Gunther, Ambassador of Germany to Nigeria&ECOWAS, Dr Christian Buck, Director Basic for Political Affairs, German Federal Overseas Workplace, Mr Mathias Dold, Political Officer, German Embassy, and Lisa Apitz, Political Officer, German Embassy.

President Touray expressed his appreciation for the go to and emphasised the sturdy partnership between Germany and ECOWAS. He highlighted the significance of German help in key areas equivalent to maritime safety, regional integration, peacekeeping operations, and democratic governance, consistent with the ECOWAS agenda.

Through the dialogue, Mr. Holgar Leukert offered a complete framework for reaching peace and safety, drawing on Germany’s experience in addressing advanced financial and growth points. He reaffirmed the Republic of Germany’s unwavering dedication to selling mutual pursuits.

The assembly concluded with each events expressing a shared dedication to sustained dialogue and collaborative initiatives.
