A Class 12 pupil was allegedly shot in her proper shoulder by her brother whereas she was on the way in which to high school for an examination on Thursday morning, the police mentioned.
The 17-year-old sufferer, recognized as Bhoomi Chowdhary, has been hospitalised, they added.
Her father Jaivir Chowdhary lodged a criticism on the Kavinagar police station right here, based mostly on which a probe was launched into the incident, SHO Yogendra Malik mentioned.
Evaluation of CCTV footage revealed that the lady was shot at by her brother Dhruv Chowdhary, following which he was arrested, Mr Malik mentioned.
Throughout interrogation, Dhruv mentioned the bullet was fired unintentionally from a country-made pistol which he was carrying, the police mentioned.
Nevertheless, police are ready for the injured lady to get well in order that her assertion might be recorded, the SHO mentioned.
