France completely condemns the assault carried out on Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan Area, which included using ballistic missiles, on the night of 15 January, for which the Iranian Revolutionary Guards have claimed duty.
Such acts are flagrant, unacceptable, worrying violations of Iraq’s sovereignty and undermine its stability and safety, and Kurdistan’s inside it. They’re serving to to escalate regional tensions and should cease.
France extends its condolences to the victims and their households and desires the injured a speedy restoration.
It assures Iraq’s federal authorities, and people of the Kurdistan Area, of its full solidarity.
