Carabinieri recruit Saetta, the robotic police canine.
Italy’s Carabinieri navy police on Tuesday unveiled Saetta, a remote-controlled robotic canine which initially shall be assigned to the bomb squad in Rome.
The four-legged robotic will be operated to a most distance of 150 metres and shall be used for high-risk reconnaissance actions and hostile operational conditions.
Saetta can traverse tough terrain not accessible to wheeled or tracked autos, and can climb up and down stairs, open doorways and take away obstacles together with unexploded ordnance.
