ITA Airways cancels 20 flights because of strike.

Air travellers in Italy face disruption on Monday 8 January because of a nationwide 24-hour strike by airport safety employees and baggage handlers.

The strike will contain baggage handlers in Milan (Linate and Malpensa) and Florence in addition to safety employees at Rome Fiumicino, Venice and Treviso airports.

ITA Airways says it has been compelled to cancel 20 home flights because of Monday’s strike, with a listing of the cancelled flights accessible on its web site.

The Italian civil aviation authority ENAC reminds air travellers that in strikes in Italy flights are assured from 07.00-10.00 and 18.00-21.00.

For official details about upcoming strikes in Italy see the transport ministry web site.
